PNA Foundation Public Service Award

Congratulations to the 2012 PNA Foundation Public Service Award winner -- the Staff of The Times-Tribune, Scranton, for their entry on the September Flooding!

Continuing the tradition of the news media as the "fourth estate," the Public Service Award is presented to the newspaper that has helped improve the community through public service leadership.

This non-journalistic award is presented to a newspaper that has made a significant contribution to the betterment of its community through public service leadership. Entries will be judged on the following:

  • A significant effort beyond the scope of the newspaper's normal routine.
  • The initiative and activities of the newspaper.
  • The results.

Every year, the award is presented at the PNA Annual Convention.

Rules and entry instructions for the 2012 Public Service Award contest are outlined below. Award will be presented at the PNA Annual Convention, Nov. 9, 2012 at the Scranton Hilton & Conference Center.
