New in 2014! $5,000 will be awarded annually to the company or person with the best new revenue generating idea or product; or the most innovative plan to find efficiencies or cut expenses throughout their organization without sacrificing the quality of their product.
Ideas could include, but are not limited to: new revenue or efficiencies for legacy print products; new revenue or efficiencies relating to digital media; and non-traditional revenue streams. The idea or product cannot originate from or be owned by a third party.

Deadline for entries is Friday, Sept. 19, 2014. Entries must be received at the PNA Foundation, 3899 N. Front Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110, by 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19. Winners will be recognized at the 90th Annual PNA Convention, Nov. 5-7, at The Omni William Penn, Pittsburgh.

Ralph Martin is president and CEO of Trib Total Media, Inc. He joined the company in 2003 as general manager of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Under his tenure, Trib Total Media has grown into a regional news and information operation serving southwestern Pennsylvania with daily and weekly newspapers, Pennysaver weekly shoppers, specialty magazines and numerous websites.
Martin began his newspaper career in 1976 with Thomson Newspapers. In his 16 years with Thomson Newspapers, he was promoted to several management positions, becoming president and chief operation office in 1992. In 1997, he founded Community Newspaper Holdings, Inc. (CNHI), becoming the company's president and chief executive officer. CNHI experienced significant growth under Martin's leadership.
Martin has devoted extensive time and talent to the news industry as well as his community. After serving as Chairman of the Board of PNA from 2009-10, he was named Chairman-Elect again in 2013. He is currently Chairman of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Western Pennsylvania/West Virginia Chapter, a director on the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation Board, and a trustee of Robert Morris University. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of the Pittsburgh Fellows. As recipient of PNA's prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013, Martin was recognized for his commitment to PNA, as well as his innovative leadership at Trib Total Media.
