We’re hitting the road and bringing valuable advertising training to western Pennsylvania!

For advertising sales reps and managers, we have an extensive session on understanding and responding to competition with the latest data research available.  A refresher on sales strategies including closing the sale, handling objections and other foundations of advertising will also be offered.

Tentative Schedule:

9:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. - Understanding and Responding to your Competition - In this session, you will learn to understand and respond to local advertising competition. As advertising revenue continues to fragment, this skill has become increasingly important for sales people who are looking to secure their share of the local market. Covered during the two-hour session will be a discussion of media ranging from traditional (broadcast television, outdoor, radio, etc.) to new media sources (programmatic, social, search, etc.), discussing their strengths and weaknesses as compared to the local newspaper. Also covered will be media types utilized and average spend from local categories (restaurants, auto, service industry, etc.). Attendees will leave with a worksheet offering scripted responses to various client categories, sourced from both the presenters and other attendees.

Presenters: Jane Hungarter, PNA Director of Marketing and Matt Caylor, Director of Interactive Advertising, MANSI Media.

1 – 3 p.m. - Revenue-Generating Sales Strategies - Get motivated with positive strategies for generating revenue including building relationships, handling objections, closing the sale, cold calling and other important refreshers.

Presenter: Renee Tacka, Adjunct Faculty Graham School of Business, York College of PA and former Advertising Sales Director.

Renee is a former major accounts sales manager and director for The Patriot-News, Harrisburg, as well as MediaOnePA in York.  She has managed sales teams while coaching and training them in negotiations, sales strategies and market analysis.  She has an extensive background in marketing, and research having worked for Claritas, also.  Renee holds a B.S. and an MBA in Marketing from York College of Pennsylvania where she is also an adjunct professor of marketing in the Graham School of Business.  She is currently working towards her Doctorate of Business Administration from Wilmington University.
