Advertising and marketing professionals know that you only have one chance to make a first impression. Newspaper advertising representatives often use this initial opportunity as a time to discuss the various “tools in their toolbox” with prospective clients. It’s easy to boast about newspapers’ broad reach, color capabilities, special sections and digital options, but sometimes, one of the most important tools of all – the audience who reads the newspaper, goes unmentioned.
Recent studies indicate that adults of all ages are avid newspaper readers. Fifty-eight percent of adults between the ages of 18-34 read the newspaper; seventy-two percent of adults age 35 and older read a newspaper; and a whopping seventy-six percent of adults age 55 or older are newspaper readers.
