HARRISBURG, Pa. (December 6, 2012) — Mobile platform company Rumble and the PNA are pleased to announce the launch of the “Ready to Rumble” initiative. The Rumble News platform provides newspapers of all sizes with a custom, newspaper-branded app design, equipped with full data analytics and the potential for monetization integration.

With the “Ready to Rumble” pilot program, PNA members will be able to use a Rumble-built, custom-designed mobile app with social reading features and full user analytics at no charge for one year. Interested members should contact Uyen Tieu at uyen@rumble.me.

Rumble has also provided PNA with the Headlines & Deadlines mobile app for tablets. The app showcases the capability of Rumble’s mobile platform, as well as the content of PNA’s weekly e-newsletter, Headlines & Deadlines. It lets users explore, read and share their favorite topics from the newsletter. Whether you want to pick and choose the topics that most interest you or you want the app to suggest content based on your preferences, there are multiple viewing options with the Headlines & Deadlines app. You can even post and share news items on your own personal channel for others to see. The Headlines & Deadlines app is free and available for download at The App Store and at the Google Play Store.

Founded in 2011, Rumble strives to transform and reshape the way consumers follow local news, while providing unique commerce opportunities for its newspaper partners. Rumble is one of a handful of companies selected by the Project Liberty Digital Incubator, a program funded by Interstate General Media (Philadelphia), and on Nov. 4, Interstate General Media launched the Daily News mobile app, powered by the Rumble Platform.

The PNA, founded in 1925, is the nonprofit trade association for print and online media in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Its mission is to advance the interests of Pennsylvania news organizations, promote the importance of a free and independent press and provide a forum for critical and innovative thinking about the future of journalism and the newspaper industry. It has more than 300 newspaper and media members, including daily, weekly, and college newspapers and online publications.
