HARRISBURG, Pa. (January 14, 2014) — With a powerful speaker lineup and a streamlined program focused on critical business and technology issues, the 2014 America East conference is poised to offer something for everyone working in the news media industry. The largest newspaper conference and trade show of its kind, America East will take place March 31 – April 2 at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center in Hershey, Pa.

This year’s dynamic offerings reflect the diverse needs and interests of today’s news media companies. Over the course of three days, America East attendees have access to more than 25 sessions and workshops, with topics ranging from building compelling mobile platforms to multi-channel sales to insourcing and outsourcing strategies. Keynote speaker Larry Kramer, publisher and president of USA Today, will kick off this year’s event on Monday, March 31 and share his thoughts on how traditional media can build a successful business around quality news and information.

Business track topics include new business models, new advertising revenue strategies, growing print revenue, event planning, and increasing audience loyalty and engagement. Technology track sessions feature pros and cons of cloud computing, digital printing best practices, driving operational efficiencies, commercial printing strategies and more.

“We’ve worked hard to define and offer programming that benefits every area of the business. This year’s lineup is top-notch and we’re excited to continue growing the trade show floor as well. America East is an affordable, one-stop shop for learning, networking and sourcing new products and services,” said Tricia Greyshock, VP, Association Services, Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association.

Additional bonus workshops have been added to the already robust schedule – News guru Kevin Slimp will lead four workshops focused on InDesign and Photoshop, customer service and new technology tools available to newspapers. Additionally, the I-SCMA is offering circulation sessions on Tuesday, April 1 to share strategies for growing audience and increasing circulation revenue.

America East is administered by the PNA and several co-sponsoring associations. The conference focuses on maximizing print profit and generating new digital revenue. With its convenient, central location in Hershey, America East is a cost-effective conference with so much to offer.
