Apr 10, 2014
HERSHEY, Pa. (April 10, 2014) — More than 900 registered participants traveled to the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center for the 2014 America East Media Business and Technology Conference last week. The reviews are in, and they are outstanding. Attendees, vendors and other industry partners agree that this year’s conference offered exceptional programming, networking and sales opportunities, and excelled on all fronts.
This year’s energized event focused on critical business and technology issues, offering something for everyone working in the news media industry. With a sold-out exhibit floor featuring more than 85 companies, attendees had the opportunity to visit with vendors offering the latest products and services to meet industry needs. “We were thrilled with this year’s event. Our programming included top-notch industry experts addressing critical issues facing the industry today; the exhibit floor included 16 first-time exhibiting companies; and our attendee numbers were the highest we’ve seen in years. It’s an exciting time, and we’re dedicated to growing America East in a way that serves the news media industry,” said Tricia Greyshock, VP, Association Services, Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association.
The program’s dynamic offerings reflected the diverse needs and interests of today’s news media companies. Over the course of three days, nearly thirty educational sessions touched on all areas of the industry: sales and marketing, editorial, circulation, digital, production and mobile. Business track topics included new business models, new advertising revenue strategies, growing print revenue, event planning, and increasing audience loyalty and engagement. Technology track sessions featured pros and cons of cloud computing, digital printing best practices, driving operational efficiencies, commercial printing strategies and more.
America East is administered by the PNA and a number of co-sponsoring state press associations and media partners.
