Legislative Alert: PNA Opposes House Bill 1119

  • Jun 12, 2015

Paula Knudsen, Director of Government Affairs/Legislative Counsel

In the House on Monday, the House Education Committee has scheduled consideration of a bill of interest to PNA.

House Bill 1119, authored by Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York), would permit school
districts to apply for waivers of certain mandates upon a showing of need. Among other things, qualifying school districts would be permitted to "publish" their public notices on their own websites, rather than in a newspaper, a practice that has already been financially detrimental in other school districts. Read PNA's letter of opposition.

Action needed: Please contact members of the House Education Committee to voice your concerns about the bill.
