HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 19, 2015 – The Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association (PNA)is pleased to announce the addition of McClatchy Vice President of Products, Marketing and Innovation Christian Hendricks as the 2016 America East keynote speaker on Monday, April 4 at the Hershey Lodge. Hendricks will share McClatchy's reinvention story as well as speak to the “untold" transformation of local media from an operator’s perspective.
Hendricks joined McClatchy in 1992 as an advertising manager and marketer and has been in a digital and innovation leadership role since. He helped steer its digital efforts from simple ideas to a $200 million line of business.
In his current role, Hendricks is responsible for audience, business development, corporate communications, innovation, marketing, mobile, partnerships, and product management. He also handles McClatchy’s TruMeasure division, playing a key leadership role in McClatchy’s digital strategies as applied to operations and corporate development, aiding McClatchy’s position as an industry leader in digital publishing.
Hendricks is a well-known and respected executive within the media sector, newspaper industry and financial community. He won the 2015 Borell Associates Award of Merit for Innovation and Leadership. In 2003, Hendricks received both the Newspaper Association of America New Media Pioneer Award, and the National Association of Minority Media Executive Catalyst Award.
America East is administered by the PNA and 14 co-sponsoring state press associations and media partners. The 2016 conference will feature sessions on sales, podcasting, video, big data, native advertising, virtual reality, disaster recovery and more.
