Advertising and Sponsorship Coordinator – PublicSource (Pittsburgh, Pa.)

 

PublicSource.org is seeking an Advertising & Sponsorship Coordinator who will bolster our efforts to share and grow the reach of quality journalism with our readers, listeners and community at-large and will help build an advertising program that supports our sustainability. We are looking for a team member who works collaboratively, builds strong community relationships, and is open to experimenting on how to best engage the PublicSource audience.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Prospecting, setting appointments and conducting presentations for potential advertisers or sponsors
  • Developing packages to help advertisers and sponsors meet their goals
  • Participating in strategy development and designing new offering
  • Coordinating with advertisers on art/copy requirements
  • Sharing digital results with advertisers
  • Participation in event planning and execution

We’re looking for:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in one or more aspects of the job responsibilities or related work.
  • Strong relationship building and listening skills. The person in this role should care about the needs of the other party and how to best meet them.
  • Respect for the need to balance revenue generation and ethical journalism.
  • Someone who values honesty and transparency. Our product is journalism, which places a high premium on truth and accuracy, and the person in this role should help us generate revenue based on the same principles.
