2026. Does that year mean anything to you? Does it jump out as a year of significance?

We sure hope so as we have been planning and talking about 2026 for the last four years!

I am Cassandra Coleman, and I am so honored to serve as the Executive Director of America250PA, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Commission charged with coordinating all of the programs, projects and events around the 250th anniversary of the United States in 2026!

We were created by bi-partisan legislation in 2018 and tasked with engaging every Pennsylvanian in every county, all 67. We have been hard at work over the last four years, and it is truly amazing to watch the organic growth of this Commission as more and more Pennsylvanians learn about the work and want to be involved.

Pennsylvania is THE birthplace of democracy, and no other state should be leading the national efforts. Each county and region of the Commonwealth is so full of its own unique history, we want to be able to tell that history and lift up the stories of the contributions of Pennsylvanians to the country over the last 250 years.

We have developed and implemented (or plan to implement over the next 6-12 months) a host of programs and projects appealing to so many interests of those across our Commonwealth. Whether you’re interested in Education & Innovation, History, Arts & Culture, Government, Health & Wellness, Military & Veterans, Tourism, or anything in between, we can assure you that there is a way for you to participate in the celebration.

An initiative of this magnitude takes a lot of preparation and many dedicated partners. We encourage individuals, organizations, local governments, and beyond, to reach out and learn how they can join us and become a part of history.
