The Standard-Speaker in Hazleton, Pa., has an immediate opening for an experienced editor with strong copy editing, page design and mentoring skills.

The assistant city editor will work closely with the city editor and news editor to advance the newspaper’s mission to serve readership in the Greater Hazleton Area through quality local journalism, page design and headline writing.

This editor will be responsible for meeting daily print deadlines while working to deliver urgent news consistently on the newspaper’s website.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of daily journalism, some supervisory experience and a genuine interest in all facets of news.

This is a high-volume position that requires exceptional organization and news judgment and the ability to perform under daily deadline pressure of a busy newsroom.
