Through the generous support of the Northrop family, former owners of the Observer Publishing Company, Washington, Pa., this intensive two-day workshop is for inexperienced reporters and editors who cover local government in Pennsylvania.
Sessions will focus on topics that help them more effectively report on township, borough, county and state governments as well as courts and school boards. We’ll discuss structure, operations, budgets, meetings, legal issues and how to best work with these entities. There will also be a review of good writing skills and advice from experienced reporters.
