We’re bringing renowned IRE training to you. At no charge for PNA members!
This half-day workshop for beginning data journalists will include two parts. We’ll begin with a one-hour overview of key data journalism tools, methods and strategies for total beginners looking to produce investigative or beat stories. The rest of the afternoon features a hands-on, three-plus-hour introduction to using spreadsheets to interview a dataset. Covered will be basic navigation, best practices for analysis projects, sorting, filtering, functions and pivot tables. This will be taught in Google Sheets, so attendees must have a free Google account to participate.
This half day virtual workshop is scheduled to begin promptly at 1 p.m., eastern time, and conclude by 5:30 p.m.
Registrants must have both a computer and audio/phone in order to participate.
There is no cost for PNA members. Non-member fee: $25.
To register, complete the form below or email the PNA Foundation. A confirmation with log in instructions will be sent to each registrant one or two days prior to the session. Space is limited to 30 participants.
This valuable PNA Foundation training is provided at no charge.
