Update to Public Notice Website

PNA partners with Column to update public notice website

We are excited to announce that the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association has recently partnered with Column to help modernize our existing public notice website. Column has helped 12 other state press associations improve access to notices by making critical improvements to accessibility and adding improved search and alert functionality for the public. We’re aiming to refresh the site in March 2022.

What does this mean for you?

Our new technology partner, Column, will be reaching out to help you transition to the new public notice website in the coming weeks. To connect with them, please complete this form ASAP to schedule a meeting.

Please ensure that your publisher and the staff member responsible for uploading notices to the state site are on that Zoom meeting.

  • During the call, the Column team will brief you on the timeline of the site rebuild and work with you to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.
  • Members will still be able to upload to the refreshed state site through several options, including a PDF clipping tool, and an FTP feed and a manual portal where you can upload PDFs or text files.
  • Since all of these uploading processes will be updated, please schedule your meeting with Column ASAP!
  • Column also offers our members a new, free platform to process notices and create digital invoices and affidavits, which automatically upload notices to the state site.

Again, please complete the questionnaire as quickly as possible, and use the last question to schedule a meeting with the Column team so they can walk you through the transition process. This is important work. Public notices remain critical to ensuring the informed citizenry and public transparency essential for good government decision-making. Public notices are also key to robust local journalism and the vitality of our statewide newspaper industry.

If you have any questions about Column or any of the PNA’s public notice efforts, please email communications@panewsmedia.org.
