REPORTER – The Latrobe Bulletin

The Latrobe Bulletin is seeking a talented, full-time staff general assignment Reporter. This position coordinates and executes coverage of local news, features; and potentially sports in and around Latrobe, Ligonier, Derry and surrounding communities. This position will actively report and write a mix of content for print, web and social media inclusive of photos, video, surveys, infographics and more. This is a perfect first-job opportunity to gain real-world experience in a talented newsroom.  This is an in-person, full time position, based in Latrobe, PA. 

Responsibilities include comprehensive coverage of locally defined beats as well as features. Digital photography skills are beneficial- especially use of smartphone for quick photo/video gathering on assignment.

We are looking for an energetic individual with solid writing fundamentals, the ability to establish and cultivate sources, a desire to be part of the community and our internal team and a willingness to work hard. The ideal candidate is a reliable self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and knowledge of AP style.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or its equivalent of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience with college newspaper definitely counts!
