The Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association (PNA) and the PNA Foundation in partnership with the National Association of Black Journalists Philly (NABJ) and the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation (PBMF) are excited to announce the 2025 Summer Internship Fellowship Program.
The fellowship program will guarantee 12 student journalists a paid internship at $20/hour for 10-12 weeks. This program is open to people of color who are rising juniors and rising seniors from an accredited journalism program of study. Recent graduates or journalists who have been displaced due to cutbacks, consolidations, etc. should also apply.
To apply, complete the application below and email the following items to foundation@pa-news.org with “2025 PA Journalism Fellowships Program” in the subject line:
- Resume, including contact information for two references
- Unofficial transcript
- Short videoclip (2 minutes max) telling us what this fellowship would mean to you and what you hope to get out of it.
- Personal essay (up to 500 words) responding to “Why is diversity important to PA newsrooms?”
- Samples of your work
Applications are due January 31, 2025.
The coalition will select and fund 12 fellows in 2025 within news organizations throughout Pennsylvania.
