On Wednesday, Sept. 10, several hundred supporters of the Bucks County Herald gathered at the Michener Art Museum for “Happy to Be Here,” the Herald Foundation’s annual anniversary party. Now in its fourth year, the event has become a cornerstone celebration of community journalism in Bucks County and the river towns.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Herald Foundation’s Excellence in Journalism Award to veteran public radio journalist Marty Moss-Coane, honoring her thoughtful, community-focused reporting career.

Celebrating 23 years
This year’s fundraiser celebrated the Herald’s 23rd anniversary, welcoming over 350 guests and raising an impressive $230,000 with the support of 73 business sponsors. Guests enjoyed an evening of connection and purpose while reaffirming their commitment to sustaining trustworthy, free and independent local journalism.

“It was a sell-out crowd for the fourth year in a row, bringing together business and community leaders from across the region who recognize the Herald’s vital role in strengthening our communities, local economy and democracy. The enthusiasm for the Herald was electric,” said Ann Meredith, executive director, Bucks County Herald Foundation.
The Bucks County Herald continues to demonstrate the impact of community-supported journalism, and the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association is proud to celebrate its achievements.
