The Butler Eagle, a family-owned morning newspaper in Western Pennsylvania located just outside Pittsburgh, is seeking an experienced writer/reporter with the ability to handle breaking news, highlight trends and issues while covering the courts and crime beat, and have the editorial judgment and strength to be the news team’s morning anchor. This journalist’s work will be presented in print, social media and the Eagle website. In addition to being a wordsmith, the position requires strong people skills, an ability to research topics, accuracy, social media awareness and the willingness to try mediums as the Eagle develops its video, audio and photographic platforms.
