Oct. 5 – 11, 2025
During the first full week of October each year, the newspaper industry recognizes the editors, reporters, sales teams, press operators and managers who contribute to producing the “daily miracle.” It takes a dedicated team to ensure that our readers have access to quality, truthful journalism.
Local newspapers connect with readers by providing the news they neeed and advertising they rely on. Readers regard community newspapers as highly valuable and important sources of information.

A survey of community newspaper readers conducted by the National Newspaper Association found:

- 94% of readers think newspapers are informative
- 82% of readers would rather look through newspaper ads than view them on the internet
- 78% of readers said they rely on community newspapers for local news and information
- Readers believe local newspapers consistently provide quality news coverage
