In 2025, the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association (PNA) and the PNA Foundation in partnership with the National Association of Black Journalists Philly (NABJ) and the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation (PBMF) launched the PA Summer Newsroom Internship Program.
Student journalists are selected through an application process by the coalition for this valuable summer newsroom internship opportunity. Selected participants are placed in newsrooms throughout Pennsylvania and receive compensation for 10-12 weeks during the summer months.
Application period for the 2026 Summer Newsroom Internship Program has closed. Announcement of the 2026 selections will be made by the end of March.
