Ten news organizations complete an intensive nine-month coaching program with impressive results.
PNA Foundation is pleased to report top line results from a months-long sustainability accelerator program that was offered to ten Pennsylvania news organizations.
Collectively, the organizations improved their sustainability by 33% comparing pre-and post-accelerator metrics. Among the four areas of concentration: Money, Audience, Product & Tech and People & Process, Product & Technology saw the largest increase.
Additional metrics include:
- +33k monthly site users
- +39k social media followers
- +3k newsletter signups
- +225 financially supporting donors/subscribers/members
“We are proud that the PNA Foundation could offer this program to the local news industry at absolutely no charge. The months of consulting, coaching and individualized attention would otherwise be unattainable, costing in the thousands of dollars per organization. We are grateful to Blue Engine Collaborative and Google News Initiative for this opportunity,” said Tanya Henderson, executive director of the PNA Foundation.
News organizations who participated also praised the program. “The Accelerator gave us the structure to focus on the goals that matter most, including growing web, social and newsletter audiences and subsequently increasing membership revenue to record levels, said Jennie Ewing Liska, Co-Executive Director of Pittsburgh’s Public Source.
More detailed case studies will be released in the coming weeks.
