“The story broke in Harrisburg on Feb. 10, 1925,

too late for The Patriot, the morning paper, which nevertheless noted on Page One the presence in town of several publisher and editor groups.

A separate story told of the previous day’s convention highlights, including a dinner speech by two pilots about their flights around the world.”

LMA/PNA Pennsylvania Lab for Journalism Funding

Local Media Association and the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association have partnered for its first ever state-wide Lab for Journalism Funding to publishers in Pennsylvania.

“On behalf of Pennsylvania publishers, I am beyond excited to provide this unique partnership with the Local Media Association that will share the knowledge and experience of LMA’s previous lab cohorts while teaching proven, detailed, step-by-step fundraising strategies and tactics,” said Tanya Henderson, executive director of the PNA Foundation.
The 12 organizations selected represent local newsrooms big and small, serving diverse communities across the state of Pennsylvania, but united in their focus on civic journalism. The lab will help these local news organizations develop and execute strategies to fund essential local journalism via philanthropy. The four-month intensive lab runs from May through September 2024.
