The Philadelphia Inquirer launches The Inquirer Food Festival

The Philadelphia Inquirer is taking a major leap forward in its live journalism this fall with the inaugural Inquirer Food Festival coming to The Fillmore on Nov. 15.

Restaurant: Friday Saturday Sunday | Chef Chad Williams and Hanna Williams

The full day of programming — a celebration of Philly’s bold flavors, live music and culinary culture — includes exclusive dishes from top restaurants and chefs, hands-on demos, discussions between journalists and food personalities, live bands, podcasts, and other one-of-a-kind performances.

The Inquirer Food Festival is the latest in a number of enhancements The Inquirer has made to its food coverage, according to Food Editor Margaret Eby.

“We’re about to publish the second edition of The 76, our annual guide to Philly’s essential restaurants,” Eby said. “We also recently brought on a new food writer, former chef Kiki Aranita; we debuted a new Instagram account, @phillyinqfood, and we revamped our Food home page to highlight our team’s most important stories, food maps, social videos, and our restaurant finder. And we’re continuing to grow. Philadelphia has one of the most vibrant, creative culinary scenes in the country, and we’re thrilled to cover it all.”
