How can local publications make a direct impact while growing their audience? The SPIRIT (Delaware County, West Philadelphia, Southwest Philadelphia) has the answer.
On Saturday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., The SPIRIT will host its Baby & You Expo at Academy Park High School. PNA proudly supports this member publication for its commitment to community impact and local engagement.

This free community event is designed to inform, connect and empower families at every stage of early parenthood, from those planning to start a family to those already raising young children. With Delaware County experiencing a rising infant mortality rate, the Expo focuses on sharing essential information and resources to help families raise healthy, happy babies.
“This Expo is the culmination of a multi-part series we did this year beginning in January,” said Paul Bennett, publisher of Spirit Media Group (Glenolden). “We looked at infant mortality and found it wasn’t a singular experience; that it touched various aspects of families and communities impacted.”
“With a grant from the PNA Foundation, we were able to do the critical work that this Expo celebrates,” Bennett continued. “On behalf of The SPIRIT organization, I thank Bill Cotter and Tanya Henderson, and the entire PNA / PNA Foundation staff, for their ongoing partnership and assistance that helps news organizations like ours further its mission of community service.”
Attendees can expect free admission, free lunch, vendors, entertainment, door prizes and interactive information sessions. Topics will include how to have a healthy baby, the benefits of working with a doula or doulo, public policy advocacy, and parenting with patience (“Keeping Your Cool When Covered in Drool”).
Entertainment will be provided by Party Savers, and the event is made possible through generous support from Keystone First, A Place to Grow, Cops & Kids, Neighbor to Neighbor and The Foundation for Delaware County. Presented by The SPIRIT, part of Spirit Media Group.
The Baby & You Expo offers families and families-to-be in Delaware County an opportunity to celebrate, learn and advocate for healthier starts for every child.
