What advice would you offer to other publications to implement or improve their internship program?

Newsrooms must be adequately staffed so the editor has time to help the interns and teach them what they know. It is very difficult to juggle editing and reporting duties on top of trying to teach interns how to be an effective reporter or editor in the future.

What book about journalism or the news media industry would you recommend to other editors in Pennsylvania?

The Journalist and The Murderer, The New New Journalism, The Ethical Journalist. I also love Missing Person by Robert Cox and Ken Peiffer. It recounts the true story of a tragic murder that occurred in Franklin County.
