"Cloud" Communications-What is it?
We will present a case study of a company with a premise-based phone system that was no longer serviceable. The vendor was no longer in business and the manufacturer discontinued that system. They chose to utilize a “Cloud” based Hosted phone system instead of purchasing another system, fearing they would have the same issues in a few years.
In addition, we will discuss the issue of poor broadband in rural Pennsylvania as an impediment to proceeding in this direction in the past.
Our discussion will be about the realities of telecommunications for news media companies serving rural areas. We will talk about serving their clients and ensuring the productivity of their remote or hybrid workforce.

Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law: Practical Tips and Common Mistakes
The webinar will seek to give attendees an overall basic understanding of Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know Law. The rationale behind the law will be examined, as will the general Right-to-Know Law Process (starting with the filing of a request, agency response, appeal before the Office of Open Records, and judicial appeal). The webinar will focus on practical tips, such as crafting a successful request and (when necessary) pursuing a successful appeal of a denial, as well as a discussion of some of the “gray” areas of the law and recent judicial developments. We will also examine common mistakes and errors requesters make, from crafting an overly broad request, to appealing a denial to the improper authority. The webinar will seek to be very pragmatic in order to give attendees a succinct working knowledge of the law that they can use in their everyday work.
