News Reporter/Assistant Editor – The Standard Journal (Milton)

 

The Standard-Journal is looking for an enterprise reporter who will write in-depth stories about issues affecting Union and Northumberland Counties. We are looking for an ambitious reporter who is capable of producing at least two-three enterprise stories a day and has some photography experience. An ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience and have a good understanding of fundamental journalism. Knowledge of school boards and local governments a plus. InDesign skills a plus.

The hourly position will also include working with the editor, occasionally providing back-up with story assignments and budgeting stories for the print and e-editions of the newspaper as well as driving social media engagement. Evening and weekend work is possible, but planned well in advance.
