In this session, we’ll explore how you can access campaign finance records. We’ll hear from seasoned investigative reporters – Angela Couloumbis and Brad Bumsted – who explain the challenges they’ve had in obtaining these records, the impact their coverage has had and best practices for getting information that is deemed public, but often shrouded in secrecy.
We’ll also hear what the legal parameters are and what is allowed through PA’s Open Records Law. Plus, we’ll take a quick dive into how best to analyze and manage data when digging through financial files.
This complimentary GoToWebinar session is scheduled to begin promptly at 12 noon, eastern time, on Thursday, September 21. Registrants must have both a computer and audio/phone in order to participate.
A GoToWebinar confirmation with log in instructions will be emailed to each registrant immediately upon registering from Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association Training and a reminder email will be sent one day and one hour prior to the session. If you don’t see it, check your junk folder.
